Turriff Academy Music Department is a busy place. On this page you will find out what’s on; what groups are rehearsing and when rehearsals are, dates and information about upcoming concerts or performances. I will also endeavour to post information about any department trips.
Please feel free to suggest new groups that you would like the department to offer and also give feedback about shows and performances etc.

Congratulations to this years Xmas Factor finalists. Please come and see me next week to discuss your rehearsal times and song choices.
All pupils involved in the Scottish Opera workshop should report to the hall tomorrow (Friday) at 10:30. (You have permission to have an early break before this).
Payment is now due for the trip to see the opera, La Traviata in October and pupils should pay Mrs Gow ASAP.

Xmas Factor 2012 Audition Times
A reminder to all music pupils that the African Drumming workshops will take place this Thursday (13th September) in the school hall. The timetable for the day is as follows:
Period 1 & 2: Ms Gow’s 2K1 Class,
Period 3 & 4: Mr McWhirter’s 2K2 class
Period 5 & 6: Mr McWhirter’s 4th Year Technology Class
Period 7: Ms Gow’s 4th year performing class.
ALL PUPILS MUST COME STRAIGHT TO THE HALL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PERIOD.
Compere auditions for this years Xmas Factor will take place in the music department on Friday 7th and Monday 10th September. Open the link below to find out your audition time. The first meeting for Xmas Factor 2012 will be held on Wednesday 5th September in D1 at 12:50pm. Please come along and find out about our Christmas Show, whether you want to get involved off stage or on come to the meeting and find out more. Auditions to be held the following week.

Monday 3 – 4pm Jazz Group with Mr McWhirter in D2
Wednesday 3 – 4pm Choir with Ms Gow in D1
Friday Lunchtime: Ceilidh band with Mrs Ralston and Ms Gow in D2.
